How to convert transparent PNG to JPG without an unwanted background
When a destination accepts JPG only, decide what color should replace the PNG's transparent areas before converting. For graphics containing both photos and text, judge the saved file by its lettering as well as its size.

Example input and output
logo.png + background → logo.jpgExamples describe the workflow. Results depend on the source file and settings.
Check the result before you save
Open the output and inspect the edges where transparent pixels met the subject. Zoom in on fine lines and small characters to see whether JPEG compression makes them difficult to read.
If the result is different from what you expected
JPG does not retain transparency. Even high quality does not guarantee identical pixels, so keep PNG for a use that depends on preserving sharp text, line art or a transparent background.
Limits to keep in mind
- JPG has no alpha channel: transparent areas are filled with the selected background.
