Understand the formats
ZIP
ZIP groups named files in an archive and can compress their bytes. It is a container, not a way to convert the format of each file inside.
Bundle several results for transfer, inspect an archive’s entries or extract supported ZIP files in your browser.
Already-compressed photos and videos may not shrink. Encrypted archives are not supported by these web tools. Nested archives are not recursively extracted, and unsafe entry paths are rejected.
When is this useful?
Extract supported files from a ZIP as new copies. Password protection or unsupported compression can prevent extraction.
