How to use this tool

  1. Choose files in JSON format. Maximum files per batch: 1.
  2. Review Flatten nested objects, then start processing.
  3. Download the CSV result and check its content and quality.

What this tool does

  • Export an array of JSON objects as CSV rows, with an option to flatten nested fields.
  • Read JSON input and save the CSV result as a new file.
  • Available settings: Flatten nested objects.

Limitations

  • CSV cannot represent every JSON structure. Formula-like cells are escaped as text for spreadsheet safety.

Frequently asked questions

Convert JSON to CSV — What should I check before using this tool?

CSV cannot represent every JSON structure. Formula-like cells are escaped as text for spreadsheet safety.

Which files can I choose?

Choose files in JSON format. Maximum files per batch: 1.

How can I adjust the result?

Flatten nested objects.

Understand the formats

JSON

JSON represents objects, arrays, strings, numbers, booleans and null. Property names use double quotes; comments are not part of standard JSON.

Format JSON for inspection, flatten suitable records into a CSV table, or combine JSONL records into a JSON array.

JavaScript cannot represent every large integer exactly. CSV has no universal type system, so a JSON-to-CSV round trip can change types or nested structure. Keep the source data.

CSV

CSV stores rows of delimited text. Quoted fields can contain commas and line breaks; encoding and header conventions vary between applications.

Use CSV for exchanging a simple table. Select the correct character encoding and inspect the column names before converting to JSON.

Leading zeros, dates and long identifiers can be changed by spreadsheet software when opened. Coverton neutralizes formula-like cells in supported table exports; encoding-only conversion preserves the original text.

When is this useful?

Open a JSON record list in a spreadsheet. Nested fields produce different columns depending on flattening settings.

Examples illustrate the workflow; actual size, support and recognition depend on the source and settings.
