Supported formats and settings

Input formats
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG
Output formats
Base64 (.txt)
Per-file limit
Current device memory
Total selected-file limit
Estimated by file count and format
Number of selectable files

Recommended input total: 16 MiB on mobile / 64 MiB on desktop. Low memory can reduce the effective limit.

Your files are not uploaded to a conversion server. A new result is created in your browser.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose files in JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG format. Maximum files per batch: 50.
  2. Review Base64 output mode, then start processing.
  3. Download the Base64 (.txt) result and check its content and quality.

What this tool does

  • Saves the image as Base64 code in a TXT file. It does not read or extract the words in the image (OCR).
  • Read JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG input and save the Base64 (.txt) result as a new file.
  • Available settings: Base64 output mode.

Limitations

  • Saves the image as Base64 code in a TXT file. It does not read or extract the words in the image (OCR).
  • Base64 typically adds about one third to the byte count and does not optimize the image.

Frequently asked questions

Encode images as Base64 — What should I check before using this tool?

Base64 typically adds about one third to the byte count and does not optimize the image.

Which files can I choose?

Choose files in JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG format. Maximum files per batch: 50.

How can I adjust the result?

Base64 output mode.

Understand the formats

JPG / JPEG

JPEG stores raster photographs with lossy compression. JPG and JPEG are two extensions for the same format.

Choose JPG for photographic images when a receiving app needs a widely supported format. Inspect fine text and edges after reducing quality.

JPG does not store transparent pixels. A PNG-to-JPG conversion must fill the background. Saving an existing JPG as PNG cannot restore detail already lost in the JPG.

PNG

PNG stores raster images with lossless compression and supports an alpha channel for transparency.

Use PNG for screenshots, diagrams and interface graphics. Check the pixel dimensions before placing it in a print document.

A PNG file can be larger than a JPG of a photograph. Browser processing can change metadata and color profiles; lossless compression does not guarantee that every source property is retained.

When is this useful?

Encode image bytes for data transport. The long characters in the TXT output are encoded data, not words recognized from the picture.

Examples illustrate the workflow; actual size, support and recognition depend on the source and settings.
